President Donald Trump said on Friday that Elon Musk was doing a “very good job” with the Ministry of Government Efficiency.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s government efficiency group was temporarily blocked from access to certain government systems, according to a Saturday federal judge.
US district judge, Paul Engelmayer, sued a group of lawyers at the Department of Government (DOGE) on Friday, arguing that the presidential committee has no right to access the Ministry of Treasury.
The order was condemned by Musk, who called the decision “completely crazy” in an X post and accused Engelmeayer of being a “activist judge.”
“How do we stop fraud and waste of taxpayers’ money without examining how to spend money?” Musk said on Saturday.

Friday’s litigation, submitted by 19 democratic lawyers, claimed that Musk’s team had violated the law by receiving “full access” to the treasury’s payment systems. The systems contain information on the social security of Americans, the benefits of Medicare and veterans, the tax refund information and much more.
In New York, the lawsuit was filed by the Office of Attorney General Letitia James, New York, who wrote that President Donald Trump “does not have power to hand over the private information of the Americans to anyone who had chosen and could not reduce the federal payments that were approved by Congress. “
“MUSK and DOGE are not entitled to access private information from Americans and the most sensitive data in our country,” James added.
Engelmayer said in his command that the positions of the lawsuit were “particularly strong” and expressed concern about cyber security risks when Doge had a privileged treasury access.

“This is the risk of a new policy of disclosing sensitive and confidential information and the increased risk that the systems in question will be more vulnerable than previously for hacking,” English wrote.
Scott Bessent, secretary of the United States Treasury, has expressed support from Musk and DOGE in the past, recently claimed that the United States “has no revenue problem, we have an expense problem”.
“The Treasury is not touched by our payment system,” Bessent said Wednesday in an “Kudlow” interview. “We are working on 1.3 billion payments a year. There is a study – can be greater accountability, accuracy and more traceability that the money goes where it is?”
Bessent also said that the doge “will not fail” during the appearance of Fox Business.

“A lot of people are moving cheese here in the capital, and when they hear this harassment, some status quo interest is not happy,” he said.
