If you have recently bought canned tuna at Trader Joe’s, HEB, Costco or Walmart, you should throw it away.
The reason for this is that a canned tuna manufacturer recently issued a nationwide recalculation of its products due to planning concerns that can cause potentially botulism.
On February 7, the TRI-Union seafood initiated a recall, according to a press release from the Food and Medicine Agency (FDA). Recalling canned tuna products under the brand name of Genoa, Van Camp, Heb and Trader Joe.
Below are the brands of the recalled products as well as the states and shops in which they sold:

The manufacturer said the recall was “a lot of caution” after warning his boxes.

According to the disease control and prevention centers (CDC), botulism can cause difficulty for breathing, muscle mensation and, in the most severe cases, death.
“When people eat these foods (contaminated Clostridium botulinum)They may become severely ill or even die if they do not receive quick medical treatment, ”notes the CDC website.
TRI-UNION seafood advised consumers to seek medical attention immediately if they feel bad after the meal of one of the products involved and so far no such cases have been reported.

“If you have a recalled tuna box, please return the retailer for a full refund, discard it, or contact the tri-union seafood directly to a retrieval kit and a replacement product coupon,” the statement closed. “Consumers can contact Tri-Union seafood at support@haiunionhelp.zendesk.com or 833-374-0171 if you have any questions or ask for a replacement product.”
The seafood of the Tri-Union did not respond immediately to Fox Business.
