The Fox Business Grady Trimble talked to a member of the Todd Inman National Transport Security Board about an ongoing investigation into the cause of the DC aircraft accident.
The Federal Flight Directorate (FAA) considers helicopters restrictions on the use of airspace around Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to ensure that it will not happen last month, like a fatal US flight accident.
FAA senior officials are considering keeping helicopters away from landing or taking off the airport, the sources of the case told the Wall Street Journal.
It is part of a long-term security plan around the airport after a US Army Black Hawk collided with an American Airlines regional JET on January 29, which was the most than 20-year-old US airlines. Both aircraft fell into the Potomac River after the collision. Sixty -seven people were killed.

A few days after the event, the FAA, organized by the traffic secretary Sean Duffy, restricted the helicopter traffic above the Potomac River around the Washington National Airport and towards the Wilson Bridge.
According to the FAA, these restrictions will remain in force until the National Transport Security Board is expected to be a preliminary examination of the event, which is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
If the police, medical or presidential transport helicopters need to use the airspace, civilian planes cannot be in the same area, according to the FAA advisor.
NTSB appreciates evidence, such as cockpit communication, unique audio recording, aileron positions, chassis, height pitch, immersed electronics and debris, and staff working with both aircraft.

At the beginning of the month, Duffy said in a statement that he was specifically examining the operations of the Air Traffic Control Tower.
“Before this accident happened, he considered two air traffic control positions. One was for helicopters. One was for aircraft for the aircraft. These positions were consolidated before this accident happened,” Duffy said.

Duffy also criticized the operation of helicopters near the airport, saying, “We have to take a real look at the safety of the airspace and the airspace.
“If there are generals flying in helicopters for comfort on this airspace, then this is unacceptable. Enter a damn suburb and drive. No need to take a helicopter.”
