Apple Maps will soon rename the Mexican Gulf to the US Gulf, after similar changes in Google this week, to meet the US President’s President Donald Trump, which has officially changed the name.
US -based Apple users can see “America Bay” on Tuesday, According to BloombergAnd the company will soon send the name to users of other countries.
Google Maps users around the world see the shared name “Mexican Gulf (America)” when they view the body of the water, while the Mexican and US users see the names of their country.
Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum sent a letter to Google asking the company to investigate the bay renaming. However, Apple and Google seem to follow the command of the sitting US President.
