“In order to be a priority for the safety of our patrons and staff, we made a difficult decision to close the sweet July cafe and the Oakland store,” read the post. “We like to become part of Oakland and we are grateful to the community that opened their arms and hugged us. It was an honor to serve you.
“While this chapter is completed, Sweet July has exciting new businesses on the horizon that we can’t wait to share.”
The last day will be on February 9th.

Ayesha Curry started the sweet July brand in April 2020, starting with a magazine, product line and a shop. The brick and mortar store consisted of coffee, bakery goods and other objects. The Oakland shop opened in 2021.
It seemed like Oakland crime thorns on the side of the business. The business suffered a burglary in 2022, leading to a temporary closure of business. The SF Gate reported at the time that the glass at the front of the shop broke and some objects were stolen.
Curry’s brand name was inspired by three months of four children with NBA star.
