Phase raises $ 13 million to speed up UX design process with the No-Code platform ncvrs.com

UX and UI designers are closely cooperating with engineers during product development to structure and implement design concepts and wire frameworks for functional user interfaces. Regular communication, feedback and testing are needed to ensure that the cooperation works smoothly and to provide a user experience that is adapted to the planned design goals.

Nick Budden, the Soros entrepreneur who used to work as a user interface/UX designer, wanted designers to spend their days solely on design work, not to transfer or meetings with engineers. Founded by Budden to manage some ineffective steps in the design process Phase 2017.

“The realization of UI is an expensive, time-consuming manual process that affects designers, product managers and engineers,” Budden said in the exclusive interview of Techcrunch. “Comprehensive user testing is also delayed until the process is completed.”

Taipei and Berlin -based start -ups build a non -codex platform that helps UI/UX designers to create completely interactive prototypes and said on Thursday that Gobi Partners, new business businesses, Palm Drive Capital, Shilling, said on Thursday VC, Squalone, Wi Harper, 42cap and 500 Global.

Today, the start -up company has released its first product, an animation tool for a user interface competing with Adobe After Effects and Figma. According to the phase, the software allows UI/UX and product designers to create an interactive website or application simulations, “manual encoding or (prone to the error) without AI plugins”. You can also export a user interface code that is ready for production by speeding up the design process.

According to Budden, the phase product is much easier for UI/UX designer than other devices such as Adobe After Effects or Figma. “The most important distinction between the figure is the completeness of the prototype. So you can build a prototype in the figure that is 20% or 30% of the real website, then 70% or 80% that the prototype does not, you should communicate with engineers, product managers And people have to figure it out, ”Budden said. “We build our product to make 100% of the real website or application.”

This is supposed to be the first in the series of introductions, and it is planned to conduct the design and code tools of three user interfaces from Wysiwyg (what you see, what you get) this year and the following year to modernize all the necessary manual work, UI/UX planning – said Budden to techcrunch. The three new features will be: exports of UI Advanced Prototyping, Ui Design and UI Codes.

“We do not see that the animation of the user interface can be considered as an independent market for a long time today, but this window closes devices such as Figma Integrate Animation as a built-in service,” Phase CEO told Techcrunch. “Our strategy is to only get the initial attraction in the animation now and move our schedule to larger markets before this shift happens.”

Soft start in South Korea

Phase first introduced its platform in South Korea in May after finding a reliable local partner for the introduction.

Designers accept new tools by monitoring their peers discussing and using, which led to a widespread acceptance of planning tools, but pointed out that this influence is often “hyper-block”. For example, London designers are primarily influenced by others in the area.

“Thanks to this local dynamics, we have launched the region by region, allowing us to be deeply engaged with each design communities and giving us momentum,” Budden told Techcrunch.

South Korea has about 100,000 designers, and Phase says it has been tested by more than 10,000 within a few weeks of starting the product. This practical approach successfully started community growth-at least in South Korea-but failed as well as the company in other regions.

“The larger markets had several scattered design communities that made it difficult to acquire attraction. After struggling for months to rebuild Korea’s success, we moved Gears and opened the global beta, ”said Phase CEO. “By adjusting our entry strategy to the market, we have seen a quick and lasting growth (…) that the momentum, combined with the stabilization of the product, is now moving from beta.”

The purpose of the phase is to enter the United States and European markets as the following priority.
