WBC temporary heavyweight champion David Benavidez (30-0, 24 KO) won 12 laps over the WBA’s “regular” champion David Morrell (11-1, 9 Aries) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Or
The scores were 115-111, 115-111 and 118-108. The last score was embarrassingly bad, but he showed what Cuban Morrell was and fought with the more popular Benavidez in Las Vegas, not in the neutral area of Riyadh. Morrell I won 115-111.
Benavidez threw it in 11th place with Morrell’s right hand. Interestingly, the referee wrote a point to Morrell to hit the bell. No warning. This puts everything in perspective.
WBC temporary heavyweight champion David Benavidez and WBA “regular” lightweight champion David Morrell fight tonight at the PBC Prime Video PPV Main race to try to get the title.
Undercard results
– In the boring main support struggle tonight, Stephen Fulton (23-1, 8 Aries) The WBC feathered champion Brandon Figueroa (25-2-1, 19 Aries) was educated and beat him with a 12-round unanimous decision. The judges score 116-112, 116-112, 117-111.
Fulton landed well with accurate shots and moved just enough to avoid Figueroa landed arms. In the championship rounds, the 30 -year -old Fulton looked tired and Figueroa won a few rounds based on his work. By then, he needed a knockout and had no power. Naoya Inoue destroyed Fulton in 2023, but Figueroa had no power and accuracy.
– The former WBA is a lightweight champion Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz (27-3-1, 18 Aries) He beat Angel Fierro (23-3-2, 18 Aries) with 10 laps. The scores were 96-94, 97-93 and 98-92.
Cruz pushed a quick pace and carried the heavier, more intelligent beats in every turn. Fierro also connected a lot, but his shots were not as eye -catching as the pitbull. In later rounds, Fierro changed the tactics and chose Box Cruz and succeeded. It wasn’t enough to win the victory.
Cruz departed against Jose ‘Rayo’ Valenzuela on August 3, August 3, August 3 in Los Angeles. Interestingly, Pitbull decided not to take over the Rayo, which some saw as a sign that he knew he could not win.
Cruz also rejected the opportunity to fight Ryan Garcia on Turki Al-Heikh’s May 2 card at the New York Times Square. This tells you that Cruz’s loss against Rayo was more affected than people thought.
– Junior is a medium -sized racer Jesus Ramos Jr. (22-1-1, 18 Aries) Holded former IBF and WBC 154 pound champions, Jeison ‘Banana’ Rosario (24-5-2, 18 Aries) in the eighth round. The referee decided to enter and stop the fight because Rosario took a penalty and did not throw anything back.
Of course, he was not happy about the downtime, but the referee acted correctly because Jeison was similar to a punching bag tonight. Ramos Jr, 23, knocked on him in the seventh round and looked in bad condition when he returned to his heel.
His coach should have stopped fighting between the rounds instead of allowing the eighth to come out. Well, the fight was stopped anyway, but it was so one -sided. I can’t believe that this difference was in the PPV part of tonight’s card rather than in the preview.
– feathered weight Mirco’s neck (15-0, 12 Aries) It was a miracle, from behind Christian Olivo (25-2-1, 9 Aries) in the 10th round. The 24 -year -old Argentinian Cuello led him in the final round on all three judicial profit cards. In the tenth, however, he dropped the olive with his left hooks to the body twice to win the TKO. The downtime was the ten rounds at 2: 01.
Some questions the referee’s decision to stop the fight because 25 -year -old Olivo returned and wanted to continue to fight after the second knock. At the beginning of the fight, Olivo threw Cuello right to the head and dominated the battle in the sixth round. Cuello came in in the seventh to take advantage of Olivo’s fatigue and got better to the other roads.
– Cuban moderate views Yoenli Hernandez The 7-0, 7 Aries) probably gave a glimpse of what we see at the main race tonight, with the fifth round of TKO’s victory over the Mexican Angel Ruiz Astorga (18-4-1, 13 Aries). Yoenli, 27 years old, hit Astorga with powerful updates in the fifth round. Finally, referee Alan Huggins decided to see him enough and stop the race. The downtime time was on 1: 06 of the fifth round.
After just seven struggles, Hernandez looks like he now has the goods to challenge the world title. The only thing you need is your defense. In the first two rounds, Astorga has hit a lot and cannot do it against warriors like Janibek Alimkhanuly, Carlos Adames or Hamzah Sheeraz. They struck Yoenli too hard to nail it as tonight.
– Easy view Curmel Moton (7-0, 6 Aries) He defeated the gross start to start the technical rash of the third round of the Cuban Frank Zaldivar (5-2, 3 Aries). In the third round, the moton was shipped to stop. The referee Harvey Dock entered and gestured. The time was the third round at 1:51.
The 18 -year -old moton was labeled in the first round when he decided to be close to Zaldivar. Some shots Zaldivar landed in that round were extremely huge, but Moton took them well. However, if it were a bigger punch, Moton must have been knocked out tonight because it was too careless.
At a certain point, Moton has to change the style of the fight because he does not have a guerrilla “tank” davis power. Although it looks like he is, it is more of a combined punch and hit a lot. You put a moton with someone like Andy Cruz or Abdullah Mason will not last long.
