Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu died in pneumonia after the influenza contract while she was vacationing in Japan, Local Media Report. He was 48 years old.
HSU is one of the biggest names in the Mandarin world and is best known for the 2001 TV series.
Mete’s Garden was synchronized in several languages and HSU was made a great star in the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.
His sister Dee Hsu confirmed his death to Taiwan TVBS News on Monday.
“During the new year of the moon, or the family came to Japan for a vacation. My dear sister Barbie, unfortunately, left us after an influenza triggered after getting pneumonia,” Dee Hsu said in a statement shared by the manager.
“I am grateful that I am her sister in this life, taking care of each other … I will always be grateful to her and remember her.”
At the age of 17, HSU started his career at the show as part of a pop duo with his sister Dee. The couple became popular hosts known for their animated style and sense of humor.
The rumors of HSU’s death have been spread since Sunday after a popular Facebook report announced a mysterious post stating that a 48-year-old Taiwanese celebrity had died.
Confirmation of his death on Monday sent shock waves among fans and triggered a compassion and condolences in social media.
HSU was the most important trend topic on Weibo on Monday morning. “I can’t believe it,” read one of the comments – hundreds of similar emotions circulating in Chinese social media echo.
“Only 48 years old … it’s too sudden,” read another Weibo comment. “This is a bit difficult to accept.”
The Trend of Weibo is also Japanese influenza.
HSU has epilepsy and heart disease. Previously, he was hospitalized after the seizures.
In Mete Mete’s Garden, he played Hsu Shancai, a poor student from a middle -class family who goes to an elite private school and clips to a loving net among the heirs of rich families played by members of Taiwan F4 Boyand.
Mete’s Garden is based on a Japanese manga series of the same name of the same name.
The show continues to attract fans throughout the region. Following the enormous success of the 2001 series, the story versions were also produced in Japan, South Korea, China and India.
Mete Mete’s co-star, Ken Chu, posted an empty black picture on Instagram and a group photo with HSU. “What a shock,” he wrote on Weibo.
