President Donald Trump agreed to keep 25% of tariffs in Canada and Mexico for 30 days and pull back North American neighbors from the potentially harmful trade war.
Following the call of Trump Last-Minute, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau agreed to strengthen the country’s border with the United States to record the flow of migration and fatal fentanil drugs.
Earlier, Trump had an agreement with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. He agreed to reinforce the northern border with troops. In exchange, the United States would limit the flow of weapons to Mexico.
But the 10% American tariff for Chinese imports remains on Tuesday by 00:01 Est (05:00 GMT).
Trump said he was about to talk to his Chinese companions on the phone soon. He described the 10% imported taxes for “opening salvo” and said that they could be “very -very significant” if they did not enter into an agreement.
Monday’s breakthrough came with Canada and Mexico when retaliatory tariffs were made for American goods.
After two phone calls on Monday, Trump and Trudeau made a social media to enter into a temporary agreement on the border, which would avoid tariffs for at least 30 days.
Both leaders depicted the plan as a victory.
“As a president, my responsibility is to ensure all the security of all Americans and I do just that. I am very pleased with this initial result,” Trump wrote on social media website, Truth Social.
According to Trudeau, Canada made a $ 1.3 billion (£ 1 billion) deadline with nearly 10,000 front lines of front -line workers and more sources of Fentanil, a synthetic drug, which is 50 times stronger than heroin flow, stops by Trump serious mentioned for concern.
The prime minister also said that Canada would appoint a “Fentanil Tsar” and launch a joint strike with the United States to overcome crimes, fentanil and money laundering.
Most of the border security plan was announced by Canada in December.
This includes increased coordination with the United States law enforcement, increased information sharing, restrictions at the border, and installation of drones and Black Hawk helicopters.
The news a few hours after Trump suspended a separate tariff of Mexican goods, in exchange for sending 10,000 national teams to the United States.
President Sheinbaum ruined the news about X and wrote that “he had a good conversation with our relationship with our American counterparts for our relationship and sovereignty.
Trump described his telephone conversation with the Mexican leader as “very friendly.”
In 2019, the Mexican government agreed to send 15,000 soldiers to the northern border to avoid the first Trump administration tariffs.
Trump determined the tariffs as a means of growth in the US economy, job protection and increasing tax revenues.
“Tariffs for us, no one can compete with us because we are the golden pot,” he said on Monday afternoon.
“But if we haven’t won and do it well, we won’t be the gold pot.”
However, economists have warned that Tit-Forrs tariffs could raise the price of many products, including cars, lumber, steel, food and alcohol.
The items have already been removed from some shelves and the stock exchanges turned down Monday before being slightly restored with the announcement that the tariffs were suspended.
Andrew Furey, Prime Minister Newfoundland and Labrador, acknowledged that 30 days had brought some relief, but warned the Canadians that the trade war was still going on.
He told the BBC that he was looking forward to seeing “a relaxed Canadian diplomatic approach to solve future tariffs”, but warned the US President’s further “chaotic” measures.
“We let the Canadians feel a little confused by our closest friend, our largest trading partner, our ally, our family,” said Furey.
Prime Minister of Ontario – the most populous province of Canada, which is approximately GDP in the country. He represents 38% – he welcomed the break and stated that he would suspend plans for retaliatory measures.
Prime Minister Doug Ford wrote on X: “Don’t be fooled, Canada and Ontario continue to stare at the threat of tariffs.
“Whether it’s tomorrow, in a month or a year … President Trump will continue to use the threat of tariffs to get what he wants.”
On Sunday, Trump indicated that the European Union’s 27th National Union would be the next target of Tarifa without further details.
The US President suggested that the Great Britain, which left the EU in 2020, could save many tasks.
