President Donald Trump plans to represent a 25% customs tariff at all aluminum and steel imports to the United States earlier this week.
Trump, who told Air Force One to reporters on Sunday afternoon, is expected to be released on Monday new tariffs for steel and aluminum imports. Trump also plans to announce “mutual tariffs” – or tariffs for countries that are required to export US on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

The latest tariffs reflect 25% steel tariffs and 10% aluminum tarifas, which were introduced by their first administration in 2018. At that time, the United States was the largest steel importer, while China was the largest steel exporter.
Similarly, the United States remains one of the largest importers of aluminum, along with Germany and China.
On February 1, Trump introduced the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) which incorporate 25% tariffs A 10% tariff from Canadian and Mexico and China imports. The tariffs received mixed reactions from consumers and negative retreats from foreign leaders, including Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.
