UK government requires Apple Backdoor to encrypt encrypted cloud data: meaning ncvrs.com

UK government officials are said to have secretly ordered Apple to build a rear door that would provide authorities access to users’ encrypted iCloud data.

The Washington Post According to reports, demand was issued in January under the United Kingdom’s 2016 investigation law, also known as the Snoopers Charter. Officials demanded that the report say “blanket” access to the encrypted files between the endpoints, which it loads into the cloud in the cloud instead of asking for tight access to each Apple account.

According to the post, Apple is likely to stop encrypted cloud -based storage, advanced data protection in the UK for users. This access would not give the UK authorities background access to other countries, including the United States, to encrypted files.

Apple did not immediately answer Techcrunch questions, but previously warned that creating a so -called rear door to law enforcement will explore users’ personal information to hackers.

Techcrunch contacted the United Kingdom’s home office to comment, but did not receive an answer at the time of publication.
